Children and The Lord’s Table
Sunday, October 30, 2016
In our church, baptized children are invited to participate in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, also called Communion, with their parent’s permission. The experience of Communion in worship can be confusing to children (and their parents). That’s why we’re inviting you to learn more about this sacrament.
After the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, October 30 children and their parents are invited to gather for a meal together at church. Afterwards we will compare our supper to the Lord’s Supper as we talk about the way that Communion is like the Lord’s family gathering for a meal. We will practice holding the cups and plates for Communion, and learn what to say and what to do.
Children in elementary school are invited to attend whether or not they have already taken part in the Lord’s Supper.
Please RSVP to Virginia Callegary, firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able to attend.
