Talking Out Loud about the Earth

Effective communication strategies with people who might not (really) be listening…

Come learn how to be a more effective environmental communicator. At this Earth Forum a panel of presenters will help us discover how success stories can help us educate decision makers on key environmental issues.

By focusing on water pollution solutions and water policy issues as examples, the panel and action groups will help you be more effective at identifying target audiences that you want to convince to change their behavior – elected officials, HOAs, other churches, or whoever you are trying to educate. We will help you find the right messengers and right messages to effectively educate others.

Our distinguished panel of presenters includes:
Kristin Reilly, Communications manager and amazing communications expert at Choose Clean Water Coalition.
Emily Ranson, Maryland Program Coordinator of Clean Water Action.
Ben Alexandro, Water Policy Advocate at League of Conservation Voters.

Emphasis Action Groups will focus on stormwater stories. You will learn how to be effective educators and communicators, and role-play meetings with officials. You will walk away with the skills and tools you need to better communicate the importance of stormwater projects and how best to use our collection of stormwater success stories when meeting with decision makers.

The Earth Forum of Howard County calls together Earth activists, faith communities, government agencies and interested individuals for civil and informed discussion of climate change, sustainable living and developing communities of cooperation through education ideas and actions to touch hearts for the majesty of creation.

The Earth Forum is open to all interested persons, is free.
Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers – call 410-730-3545 for more information.
