Sixth Grade Mission & Adventure Week

July 21 through 25, 2014

Calling all rising Sixth Graders! Pastor Morton and Pastor Sue are putting together a GREAT week for us to explore mission and ministry together.

Here’s what usually happens: We gather at 9am, and return to the church around 3 pm, depending on where we go and what we do.  The morning begins with a time of conversation and devotions together to start the day. Then we get ready to do a mission project of the day.

We’ll clean up our woodland labyrinth, help out at a horse rescue farm, pack some lunches for hungry people, visit the Church World Service warehouse, do a craft project for our Deacons, and go exploring in DC! At the end of the week, we’re going to do something really special to welcome everyone to Mid-Highs!

And let the Church Office know that you want to be part of this fun tradition! We’re sending a letter out to all our FPC Sixth Graders – but call the Church Office or email us to sign up. There’s also a sign-up sheet in the Lower Commons. The cost for the week is $20.00

And a note to parents, collegians and other adult friends of youth: we’re going to need a gang of adults to help with this. You don’t have to help every single day – but please let Morton or Sue know if you can be part of this great First Presbyterian tradition.
