Clare Walker is a Maryland Master Gardener, Master Naturalist and instructor in the Natural History Field Studies program. She works at the Irvine Nature Center as program manager, giving programs on native plants, wildflowers and pollinators. At Irvine, she supervises interns on research programs from phenology to bee diversity. The talks will focus on the native plants we can use to replace our lawns to increase biodiversity, to enrich our local ecosystem and feed our artistic natures!
Paul Beares is a Maryland Master Gardener, a retired banker, and a graduate of the Ecumenical Institute at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore with a Masters in Theology degree. He is an active member of the Creation Care team at his church and speaker on a range of environmental and gardening topics. His talk focuses on core Judeo-Christian theological statements concerning creation, environmental stewardship and environmental justice and concludes with specific garden and landscaping practices to care for the gardens in our lives.
