During Black History Month we will be sharing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” King wrote the letter while he was incarcerated following non-violent protests against discrimination. The letter was written in response to a open letter written by eight white religious leaders. King’s letter is a profound statement of both his faith and conviction that his work was critical. This writing is timeless and can be applied to any era or place of discord in human history.
The letter has been divided into four parts, one for each week of February. Click here for a full copy of the letter. Copies can also be found at the Welcome Center.
