The Peacemaking Team is looking for an enthusiastic individual(s) who care about the LGBTQIA+ community, and who would be willing to coordinate our church’s presence and participation in the Howard County Pride Festival in October.
What Is Required of You:
Collaborate with PSJ on the overall design of the booth
Determine, in collaboration with PSJ, what printed materials concerning our church should be made for handing out
Designing or determining, in collaboration with the DCE, a “Keep sake” to hand out to people as they pass by
Recruiting and scheduling volunteers (from our church and extended church community)
Planning set-up and take-down of the booth
Information about the HoCo Pride Festival:
Takes place in October (date is TBD), usually sometime within the first two weeks.
Will be on a Sunday at Symphony Woods in Columbia
Since the Festival is October, and the window for signing up is short, we would like to have the booth ready to go by the beginning of September. This would be mean all the things are printed, posters made, and keep-sakes and handouts to festival participants are ready to go as soon as we know the date.
First Pres of HoCo has participated twice in this festival. It is open to all people, families, and members of the community. It typically lasts from about 9am until about 4pm.
