Since we last held our Warm for Winter event, the need for coats and other cold weather gear has increased among the clients of the Luminus Network for New Americans! The families served by Luminus in the Baltimore region have expanded from primarily LatinX and African to include Afghan and Ukrainian immigrants. We will be helping to meet these needs by hosting this year’s Warm For Winter event at the church on Saturday, September 24th.
Can you help? We are collecting donations of new and gently used: coats (children & adult sizes), hats, gloves, mittens, winter boots, blankets and comforters. Other high priority needs are: diapers, wipes, baby formula, feminine hygiene products, kids/teen books, and outgrown Halloween costumes.
You can drop off items:
- In the marked bins in the Lower Commons and outside the kitchen doors
- At our drive-thru drop off on Saturday, September 10th from 10:30 am – 1 pm.
If you prefer to donate money so that we can make bulk purchases, please:
- Write a check to the church and mark it clearly “Luminus event”, bring it on the 10th, or give your contribution directly to Kathy Woods or Sara Watson.
- Donate through PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account).

Thank you for helping our immigrant neighbors stay Warm for Winter!
