General Policy for SUNDAY MORNINGS for In-Person Worship and Other In-Person Activities

In the event of snow, ice or other severe weather on Sundays, the home page of the church website and the church answering machine will have a special message to let you know whether worship services or other activities have been changed or cancelled. A decision will be made by 7:30 a.m. with a goal to put a message on the church website by 8:00 a.m. If possible, we will also put a message on the church answering machine by 8:00 am. Call the Church Office at 410-730-3545 for updated messages.

General Policy for SUNDAY MORNINGS for Livestream-Only Worship

Even in the event of snow, ice or other severe weather on Sundays, there will always be a worship service livestreamed on the church’s YouTube channel or Facebook Live. If the worship leaders and technical support leaders are able to travel to the church, the Service will be from the Sanctuary. If they are not able to safely travel, then the Service will be from an alternate location, probably the Pastor’s home. The home page of the church website has links to the YouTube and Facebook Live sites.

If there is an extended electrical or internet outage at the source, we will not be able to livestream the Service and will not be able to update the website. If possible, we will then place a special message on the church answering machine. Call the Church Office at 410-730-3545 for updated messages.

General policy for Building use on OTHER DAYS

First Presbyterian Church follows the Howard County Public School system. That is, if school is cancelled, then the church building is closed and all activities are cancelled. If school is on a delayed opening, the church will be open on a delayed schedule as well, usually opening at 10:00 a.m. If evening school activities are cancelled, then the church will be closed in the evening, and all evening activities are cancelled. For questions about this policy, please call the church office.
