Signs and Wonders: Six Miracles on the Lenten Path

During Lent, the Morning and Evening Study Groups will explore Jesus’ mission of healing. We’ll study six miracle stories told in the Gospels. We’ll talk about their historical context (what did these miracles mean to the people who witnessed them?) and we’ll consider what they might mean to us today – we who live in a culture with considerably different world view, with a very different medical and psychological context. What are these stories telling us – about God, about faith, about Jesus, about salvation – and what do we do with miracle stories in general?
We’ll be guided by Amy-Jill Levine’s book: Signs and Wonders. It is available from Amazon, paperback and Kindle.
If you’ve been considering digging into Christian faith a bit deeper this year – the Wednesday Study Groups invite you to join in. Everyone is welcome. If you have questions, speak with Pastor Sue. The Morning Study Group meets in-person at the church, 9:30 am to 11 am in the Parlor.
The Evening Study Group meets on Zoom from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
We will not meet on February 22 (Ash Wednesday).
